The latest update on the current Premier League suspension has revealed that the remaining fixtures will not be voided and will in fact be played at a later date when it is safe to do so.
According to Sky Sports, the Premier League has been forced to push back the resumption of this season’s fixtures until at least April 30, but have stressed the campaign will be continued regardless.
The league was officially suspended on March 13 due to the magnitude of recent events, but the latest update has confirmed the show will go on. The remaining league matches will be ‘extended indefinitely’ which means Liverpool fans can and more than likely will still see their side lift their first ever Premier League trophy.
James Pearce tweeted to announce the good news to Liverpool fans who are naturally elated with the update. Supporters are buzzing that they could finally see their side win their first top division title in 30 years.
