Liverpool: Fans hail Jamie Redknapp’s support for Thiago
A number of Liverpool supporters have been hailing Jamie Redknapp after he stuck up for Thiago regarding the influence he has had at Anfield.
The Reds picked up a hugely impressive 3-0 win away to Leeds United on Sunday, once again strengthening their Premier League title credentials.
Mohamed Salah, Fabinho and Sadio Mane scored the goals for Liverpool, although the victory was marred by a serious injury to youngster Harvey Elliott.
One player who shone throughout the game was Thiago, who looked a class act in midfield and played his part in two of the three goals. As per Sofascore, he also completed all four of his long balls, plus 59 of his 66 passes, along with winning four tackles and six duels.
After the game, Redknapp waxed lyrical over the Spaniard on Sky Sports [via Football Daily on Twitter], lambasting those who criticise him as soon as Liverpool have a bad result, due to his style of play.
He said: “When Liverpool go on a bad run, people say he slows the play up, he can’t handle the intensity, absolute garbage! This guy is one of the best technicians you will see in world football.”
