Ross Strachan returned to the Blood Red podcast and discussed Liverpool's latest defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup and touched on their new signing, Takumi Minamino.

Minamino has been a part of the Reds family since the January transfer window but the 25-year-old is still adjusting to the life in England and under Jurgen Klopp.

And during their FA Cup clash against Chelsea, things didn't really go according to the plan and Strachan believes that Minamino is simply not physical enough to compete at the moment.

Here's what he said for the Blood Red podcast (4/3/2020): "Minamino, far too lightweight this new signing. He needs a preseason and needs to fill out a little bit also. You can see he's got the touch and all that but he's just not physical enough and he's just getting pushed off the ball so easily."

Minamino has so far featured in a total of six games for Liverpool since his arrival during the winter transfer market but is yet to register his first goal or assist.

With zero shots, 46 touches and only 5/10 duels won throughout the game against the Blues (via SofaScore), the 25-year-old was visibly not having the best of games out there.

It seems that he'll need a bit more time to adjust to his new surroundings and if Strachan's verdict is anything to go by, he might need a couple more pounds of muscle too.
