Celtic haven’t quite reached their full potential in the current campaign as they still trail Hearts in the race for the Scottish Premiership title.
The Hoops would have had their sights set on securing a third consecutive treble in the current campaign, but they’ve struggled to ensure consistency in recent times. And, the club received some worrying news recently, as according to the Mirror, Brendan Rodgers is being considered as a potential replacement for Rafa Benitez.
Newcastle are considering a move for Brendan Rodgers if Rafa Benitez can’t halt their slide.
Indeed, Newcastle’s winless start to the season has caused for the club to look at potential managerial replacements, and Celtic boss Rodgers is set to be one name in the frame if Benitez can’t inspire a turnaround.
Interestingly, it is their next three games against Brighton, Southampton and Watford, that are now understood to be pivotal for Benitez and a better indicator of Newcastle’s prospects.
Of course, the Hoops haven’t enjoyed the best of times in the current campaign but Brendan Rodgers has been a breath of fresh air during his time in Scotland.
Brendan Rodgers has secured a countless amount of silverware during his time in Scotland and will no doubt go down as one of the best managers to ever take charge at the club. But, he may be tempted to move to the Premier League, as he is understood to be keen on a move to England.
Indeed, the Hoops could find themselves in even more trouble if the Northern Irishman decides to leave as they’re currently behind in the title race and could be managerless.
