Tottenham have offered Fernando Llorente to Bordeaux

Tottenham Hotspur appear to be trying to offload one of their fringe players this summer as he does not feature in their long-term plans.

According to a report by Info Mercato, via 20 Minutes, Spurs have offered Fernando Llorente to Bordeaux in an attempt to move him on.

The Spaniard is not expected to play a role with Tottenham this season and could be prepared to make a move from north London after a debut year that he struggled in.

With Harry Kane continuing to light up Spurs with his performances, Llorente has hardly been given an opportunity to impress following his deadline-day move from Swansea City last summer and know it appears Mauricio Pochettino is happy to let him leave.

However, it remains to be seen if Bordeaux are keen on taking the 33-year-old off their hands, or whether the Ligue One outfit, who is managed by Gus Poyet, look elsewhere during the transfer window.

The Verdict:

Llorente is thought to want to fight for his place in the Tottenham side, however, a move could be the best thing for him to restart his career.

The Spaniard, who has enjoyed spells with Athletic Bilbao and Juventus during his career, is thought to be on wages that could deter any potential suitors, which could make a move appear difficult.

It remains to be seen if he will still be in north London once August comes to an end, or if he will indeed, be playing his football elsewhere.
