Writing for football.london, correspondent Alasdair Gold has detailed the plan for exciting Tottenham youngster Oliver Skipp – who is currently impressing on loan at Norwich City in the Championship.

Can you name these 10 former Spurs stars? Let's get started! Who is this?

Skipp claim emerges

Indeed, as explained by Gold, the plan is for Skipp to enjoy a fruitful temporary stint at the Canaries to then come back and potentially work his way into Tottenham’s first team for the 2021/2022 campaign.

As fellow starlet Harvey White, who plays in the same position, has just recently been tied down with a new deal, the two exciting youngsters could be set to battle it out for a place in Mourinho’s plans next season – with Skipp potentially coming as a real challenger to both White and Winks.

According to Football Insider, the Tottenham boss has been blown away by the ‘phenomenal‘ Skipp behind the scenes, and Gold has now backed up that claim with Spurs seeing him as a really promising asset.

Barely-seen in a Spurs jersey last season, playing just 105 minutes across the Premier League and Champions League, it’s safe to say Lilywhites could see more of him in future.

Transfer Tavern take

Skipp, on loan at the Championship table-toppers, is playing almost ‘every single minute‘ whilst repeatedly standing out as Man of the Match.

The 20-year-old can dictate play whilst also defending deep for his side, and he will be a threat to Spurs players in the occupied midfield positions according to Gold.

It remains to be seen whether he does prevent White from getting into the team or eventually usurps Winks, but judging by his start at Norwich, you certainly wouldn’t rule it out.
