Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react as report suggests annual revenues are over £400m

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to announce that their annual revenues have soared beyond £400m, according to a report from Football Insider.

It is suggested that the club are set to post their latest financial results at some point in April and that they will confirm a record high turnover which is huge news for the north London outfit. Their last report for the 2017/18 campaign showed that figures rose from £309.7m to £380.7m and it seems that number will increase further and beyond the £400m mark for the 2018/19 season.

A big reason for this is the fact that they reached the Champions League final for the first time in their history, a run which is thought to have brought in around £85m. They have also been boosted by moving to their brand new stadium last April and will announce increases in three areas – broadcasting, matchday and commercial income.

Many Spurs fans have reacted quite negatively to this news, however, and have taken aim at Daniel Levy. They suggest that this financial update means nothing if he doesn’t invest money into the first team squad, something which he famously didn’t do in the 2018/19 season when they didn’t sign a single player (Transfermarkt).

Here is what some had to say about it on Twitter, as one supporter labelled the news ‘sickening’…
