Tottenham Hotspur: Fans slate Serge Aurier for performance against Aston Villa - Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur secured a dramatic late victory against Aston Villa on Sunday with Son Heung-min scoring in the 94th minute to seal a 3-2 victory.

Jose Mourinho’s side had gone 1-0 down early on but managed to turn things around before half-time with goals from Toby Alderweireld and Son putting them ahead. They were then pegged back just after the break when Bjorn Engels levelled things up and it looked as though it would finish as a draw until the South Korean pounced on a defensive error to steal all three points.

It was a mixed day in terms of performances from Spurs players, with some impressing whilst others didn’t play so well. One man who received specific criticism on social media, however, was right-back Serge Aurier.

In fairness, the Ivorian did not play well at Villa Park and in the 90 minutes, he lost possession a whopping 24 times. Added to that none of his three attempted crosses were accurate, whilst he managed to win just one of his three aerial duels and finished with a poor passing accuracy of just 64% (SofaScore).
