West Ham United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be looking ahead to their clash with Chelsea at the weekend as they look to seal their place in the Premier League next season and it appears the club are already planning for next year.
The Hammers currently sit five points clear of the bottom three and will be wary one more victory could be enough to survive the drop at the end of the campaign. It is believed David Moyes is already planning for the future of the London Stadium outfit and the club have identified a midfielder to help strengthen their side.
According to a report by Nieuwsblad.be, West Ham are chasing Steven Defour from Burnley as they have been impressed by the performances of the 29-year-old. The Belgium international has been crucial to the Turf Moor side’s efforts and has impressed since joining from Anderlecht in 2016.
Despite being injury-hit towards the end of the campaign, the midfielder has gone on to make 24 appearances for Sean Dyche’s men and has been reported to be happy at the club and willing to sign a new deal to remain at Burnley.
The West Ham locals will be keen to see what happens in regards to this transfer, with a number of the punters expecting the club to invest in the summer, however, the priority for them remains survival.
Keen to see their midfield with some more quality, our punters clad in claret and blue would be happy to see Defour arrive at the London Stadium.
