West Ham United: Sebastien Haller discussion divides opinion among these Hammers fans

Plenty of West Ham United fans have been discussing their thoughts on summer signing Sebastien Haller on social media recently.
The French striker joined the Hammers from Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt in July for a club-record fee of £45m (BBC Sport). He enjoyed a positive start to life at the London Stadium, scoring four goals and providing one assist in his first seven Premier League appearances. However, his form has tailed off dramatically since then and he has managed to net just twice in his last 18 outings in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
His form has led to criticism from a section of their fanbase, with some suggesting he is lazy following their 3-3 draw with Brighton recently (thisisfutbol.com). On Monday, West Ham fan account @COYIrons_com tweeted to ask what supporters actually thought of Haller. Indeed, they questioned whether the Frenchman was indeed lazy, or if he was simply lacking service and as a result has become frustrated of late.
Is Haller a busted flush?
Yes

No

The response from Hammers fans was mixed, with some defending the player and insisting that he needs more service whilst others didn’t go along with that and suggested he hasn’t been working hard enough. Here are some of the best replies…
2 Frustrated with the lack of service, good players don’t become bad overnight, we seem to buy players to fit into our system and not play to their strengths, we are not flexible enough and have a rigid formation all the time.

Definitely 2. Seen him play for Frankfurt and he was the opposite of lazy. I can’t understand why Moyes can’t see that him and Antonio together is the answer

2 definitely frustrated by lack of service and lack of support, when he does win the ball there is no one there.

Definitely not lazy. Drops so deep to get the ball and try to instigate attacks. Problem is he’s not exactly blessed with pace, so maybe he should adopt the lazy frontman tag and just get himself on the end of crosses.

Number 2 has caused number 1, I get his frustrations he’s been so isolated all season but his own work rate has dropped because of it, he needs to work harder

Genuinely lazy , no pace , no tricks , no aggression, poor mans Arnie

He doesn’t require service or assists, which are nonsense stats and concepts. He has no desire or motivation once he gets the ball and his finishing is underwhelming. He needs to make things happen not goal hang. He’s lost all motivation.

Had plenty of service and plenty of chances… drop him and put Antonio up top

The least you would expect from a player is workrate, I can’t defend him. He looks a decent finisher, but nothing more. For the money we paid for him, he hasn’t got the quality needed imo.
