West Ham United lost 2-0 against Everton on Saturday, taking their winless run to four games in all competitions, as per Transfermarkt.
With Bernard having opened the scoring in the first half, Gylfi Sigurdsson doubled the lead in injury time, confirming that Everton would walk away with the three points, as confirmed by West Ham’s official Twitter account after the final whistle:

Many West Ham fans have shown their frustration at the result and performance in the replies to the tweet, having watched a game in which the men in claret and blue had 11 fewer shots, won four less aerial duels, made 13 fewer tackles and had 9 less corners than Everton, as per WhoScored.
There were plenty of harsh words to be said about the Hammers’ showing, with fans calling the performance embarrassing, while there was also the suggestion that the end scoreline of 2-0 actually flattered the Hammers.
Demands are being made that Manuel Pellegrini’s team makes improvements ahead of the Sheffield United game.
A selection of Twitter reaction to the result and performance, including posts from unimpressed West Ham fans, can be seen below:
Embarrassing, refund all the westham fans cash back. Disgraceful

We were poor today, same as the performance at home to Palace! Got to play with pace, passion and ingenuity. We are playing slow, pedestrian, without passion & commitment. All the best teams are playing at pace, closing down quickly & with tonnes of energy, something we lack!

Losing is a part of football/sport and I can accept that but losing with such a shambolic lack of passion and effort I will never accept. Shocking display.
Need a must win game, just play West Ham and you’ll be fine.
2-0 flatters us.

Fully deserved. Should have one by more. We were awefull today. How can we be in position where we are subbing one of our most valuable players after 45 minutes? Poor performances all round but our so called big players didn’t turn up once again

Wait for the usual rubbish on social media about we need to perform better next week. Tired of hearing it game after game. Actions speak louder than words so go out and perform next time.

Absolutely embarrassing. No passion, no effort, no pride. West ham are in my blood but I can safely say we will never make top six with displays like that
