Our punters are rolling their eyes here in the Football Transfer Tavern as our landlord shows them this viral image about Tottenham Hotspur’s star man Christian Eriksen and it is hard to blame them.
Whilst the White Hart Lane faithful look triumphant and lord it over their rivals, our landlord reminds us that statistics are never the whole story and after seeing that at 23 years of age, Christian Eriksen is technically a better player than Eden Hazard, Arjen Robben and Cristiano Ronaldo was at his age, we have to agree.
Now whilst the Dane is a brilliant player and well worth the £11 million Spurs paid for him from Ajax, we have to think back to Cristiano Ronaldo at 23 especially.
Given the former Manchester United man was well on his way to winning his first Ballon d’Or, we think there is frankly no comparison.
