After a record breaking season, the Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern are excited to see what next season is going to bring.
The Bhoys completed the domestic treble which saw them go unbeaten in the league in what was an unbelievable first year for Brendan Rodgers.
The former Liverpool boss saw his team dominate Scottish football and he now has a platform to build on for next season.
With that in mind, the Bhoys are looking to take his team up a notch and the pre season is a great time for Rodgers to assess his squad in time for the start of the new season.
To say the fans clad in green and white within the Tavern are excited about the future would be an understatement, but the talk is currently about the players that really need to impress Rodgers in the pre-season friendlies in time for the new season.
Whilst it is hard to pick players that need to do more within such a successful team, our landlord has had to trouble in listing two players that really need to prove their worth to Rodgers this pre-season.
Let’s take a look at them here…
Jozo Simunovic

Simunovic originally started last season as part of Brendan Rodgers’ first choice centre back pairing with Erik Sviatchenko, but the performances of Dedryck Boyata through out the season saw Simunovic pushed to the side and Boyata racked up 42 league starts compared to Simunovic’s 35.
With that said, our landlord doesn’t believe that all is lost for Simunovic, and a strong pre-season will throw him right back into the starting line up by the time the season comes around.
Leigh Griffiths

The last time we saw Griffiths in the Transfer Tavern, he was banging in free kicks for Scotland against England and with this still fresh in the Celtic fans’ minds, they are now egging one of their favourites to really prove his worth to Brendan Rodgers.
Of course, Moussa Dembele is currently the hot striker at Parkhead but there is a feeling in the Tavern that Griffiths may well be vital in the coming season.
