Celtic return to domestic action on Friday night with a trip across to Lanarkshire to face a Hamilton Accies side in relatively good form.

Indeed, the Bhoys in the bar aren’t expecting an easy visit to New Douglas Park, though the nature of life under Brendan Rodgers means they’d take nothing less than a win, no matter how hard fought.

Still, there is the small matter of a return to Champions League action for the Hoops as they host a Neymar and Kylian Mbappe led Paris Saint-Germain only four days after their game with Hamilton.

With that in mind, Rodgers has to be clever in his team selection. Not blessed with a huge squad already, the former Liverpool coach will need to shuffle his pack in order to close the gap (albeit an early one) on league leaders Aberdeen.

Having said all this, here’s a look at how Celtic should line up against Hamilton tomorrow night.

GK: Craig Gordon

Was at fault for St. Johnstone’s opener in the last SPFL game, so will have a point to prove against Hamilton.

Hasn’t always convinced when truly tested and the Scotland international needs a big performance ahead of PSG’s visit to Glasgow.

RB: Anthony Ralston

The young academy graduate has some way to go before he emulates Kieran Tierney in green and white, though is clearly a big talent and could do with run out, should the more experienced Mikael Lustig revert to right-back duty in the Champions League.

CB: Jozo Simunovic

With both Dedryck Boyata and Erik Sviatchenko out of action, having Simunovic back in contention is a huge boost for Celtic.

With the side having looked shaky in defence last time out, the Croatian can build up his match fitness after sitting on the bench against St. Johnstone.

CB: Nir Bitton

Pushed back into central defence of late, Bitton certainly does have the ability to marshal the back line. Paired next to a more experienced partner, the Israeli international may look a lot more comfortable.

LB: Kieran Tierney

One of the most exciting young Brits in football today, Tierney may want to get all the attacking out of his system on Friday night before he meets Neymar, Mbappe and Edison Cavani and their frequent interchanges early next week…

CDM: Scott Brown

Celtic’s captain and lynchpin knows what it takes to deliver at this level and provides Rodgers with a solid platform from which to build.

Not all too much that needs to be said about Broony.

CDM: Stuart Armstrong

Hasn’t yet hit the heights of last season, so Stuart Armstrong could certainly do with some game time to get the ball rolling again. Dropped into a deeper position to cover Olivier Ntcham, he needs to get back to basics.

RAM: Jonny Hayes

Not the most inspiring summer signing, former Aberdeen star Jonny Hayes needs to be brought in to give James Forrest a rest. Celtic should be wary about resting too many players mind, though Hayes is proven in the SPFL and will provide Hamilton with a few things to think about on the right.

CAM: Callum McGregor

Saved Celtic’s bacon last time out, McGregor operating as a No.10 against Hamilton should give Rodgers’ side a dynamic option in behind the central striker.

Able to pull strings in front of a packed defence or break behind enemy lines, he’ll want to keep impressing to try and break into the national side.

LAM: Scott Sinclair

Celtic’s best player, Scott Sinclair just can’t be rested. A wonderfully lethal attacker drifting in from the left-hand side, the former Manchester City man is simply a cut above the rest.
