Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern are debating whether they can truly compete with Paris Saint-Germain for the signature of a fan favourite.
The Sun states PSG are confident of beating United to the £100m signature of Cristiano Ronaldo, with the French giants desperate to secure the mammoth addition next summer amid growing speculation on the Portuguese ace’s future.
Ronaldo has regularly been linked with a return to Manchester United, where he spent numerous successful years, but the money PSG are prepared to throw at him may see the Red Devils miss out.
Many in the bar believe it’s pretty sensational that the French side will spend £100m, which would be a world-record fee, on a 30-year-old approaching the end of his career; but no-one enjoying their pints is surprised.
A lot of the United fans in the corner are questioning whether paying such a high price for Ronaldo is a wise move or whether their club is better off spending the money on other targets.
United fans, would you pay £100m to bring Ronaldo back to Old Trafford? Let us know in the comments below!
