Stoke’s Tony Pulis Holding Out For £18M!

With Bolton defender Gary Cahill performing exceptionally in the opening game of the Premier League, Liverpool may find, at best, his price tag has gone up considerably, and at worst, he is just too invaluable to Owen Coyle for him to be allowed to leave this season.

Because of this, reports are suggesting that Liverpool have ended their interest in the Bolton defender, and are instead trying to bring in Ryan Shawcross from Stoke.

A key component of the squad which has firmly established Stoke as a Premier League team, Shawcross has been tipped by many to make the step up to international football. A move to a top Premier League team could easily move him into contention for one of the centre-back slots, providing he still gets regular first-team football.

CaughtOffside is reporting that Liverpool have made an offer of £1oM plus midfielder Christian Poulsen for Shawcross, however, Tony Pulis is believed to be holding out for a fee in the region of £18M. Despite Liverpool’s clean sheet and good performance in their 2-0 win over Arsenal, Kenny Dalglish is still keen to add to his defensive options, and may well be tempted to meet Stoke’s valuation of Shawcross.

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
