QPR: Chris Willock ‘looks certain’ to miss Reading game

Queens Park Rangers' Chris Willock in action

Queens Park Rangers star Chris Willock ‘looks certain’ to miss Friday’s meeting with Reading due to a hamstring problem.

The Lowdown: Recent surgery

Willock, labelled as ‘excellent’ by Michael Beale, has begun the season in fine form, scoring six Championship goals in nine games.

The 24-year-old has played in a variety of attacking roles and is already just one goal away from his 2021/22 tally.

Willock missed parts of the previous campaign due to a hamstring issue that required surgery, and it looks as if he has suffered another problem in the same area.

The Latest: Huge blow

London Football News shared an update regarding Willock ahead of the meeting with Paul Ince’s side.

They claimed that the club are awaiting for results on a scan but believe he ‘looks certain’ to miss tonight’s game ‘at the very least’, labelling it a ‘huge blow’.

The Verdict: Not good

Beale also has concerns over goalkeeper Seny Dieng, who has a thigh issue, and the problem with Willock is another big worry. He has previous when it comes to hamstring issues, so it would be a big loss if he is once again sidelined for the foreseeable future.

You’d expect that the attacker won’t feature this evening due to the quick turnaround from the win at Sheffield United in the week, which appears to be a sensible decision, but fingers crossed he’ll be back before domestic football stops for the World Cup next month.
