Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos was being watched during their 2-0 victory over Progres Niederkorn on Thursday night, according to Four Lads Had a Dream.

The club insider blog revealed following the Europa League qualifying match that AC Milan scouts were in attendance running the rule over the Colombian forward.
Morelos did not look his lively self on Thursday night as he failed to have the impact that everyone associated with Rangers have come to expect of him over the last two seasons.
The Scottish Sun were rather critical of his performance against Progres as they felt he deserved just a six in their ratings, stating: “Should’ve had at least two goals to his name first half alone. Angled shot keeper held, point-blank effort charged down then shot wide from close range. Subbed…6”.
And, with his record in front of goal for Rangers, it is hardly surprising as to why there was a sense of disappointment with the £2.7million-rated (Transfermarkt) striker’s contribution.
The 23-year-old has been prolific for the Light Blues as he has netted 49 goals in his 92 appearances for the club following his £1m move from HJK Helsinki, netting 30 times in 48 matches across all competitions last season (Transfermarkt).
The interest from AC Milan is just the latest from a long line of clubs, with the likes of West Ham United and Crystal Palace thought to be keen, whilst a move to the Premier League is thought to be something of a preference for Morelos, whereas the Italian’s ban from European football this season might not go in their favour either (Guardian).
With the Serie A outfit in talks with Wolverhampton Wanderers about selling Patrick Cutrone, it would not be a surprise if AC Milan look to intensify their interest in Morelos in the coming days.
Whether the poor performance on Thursday may have put them off and worked in Rangers’ favour remains to be seen. However, the interest from Italy is only going to be another headache Steven Gerrard’s side will want to avoid this summer.
With the transfer deadline in Italy not until 23 August, the Light Blues might not be out of the woods for another month regarding Morelos’ future at Ibrox.
