Rangers’ defeat at Hearts leaves Steven Gerrard’s side with just one competition left that they can realistically fight for, and the reactions to one of his substitutions shows exactly how the Ibrox faithful are feeling right now.
While the Europa League campaign has been a huge success, Rangers’ hopes in other competitions this season have ground to a halt in the last few weeks, losing huge ground in the title race and now waving goodbye to another domestic cup. The 1-0 defeat to Hearts on Saturday was the latest in a string of poor domestic performances from Gerrard’s side, but one player seems to be taking more flak than any other.
That player is unfortunately Sheyi Ojo, as the young winger’s introduction in the first-half this weekend brought an extremely toxic reaction from fans on Twitter. Indeed, the £1.8m-rated (Transfermarkt) youngster has only scored one domestic goal this campaign, leading to fans say they’d be better playing with ten men after Ojo replaced the injured Scott Arfield…
