Rangers fans were happy after news emerged about a resolution for the lower leagues in England.
The National League’s chief executive Michael Tattersall had written to all 68 clubs to make his intentions of shutting down the competition clear. However, it has now been confirmed that all football below the National League will be ‘expunged’, per BBC, or effectively null and void.
It’s news that will be music to the ears of the Ibrox faithful as it provides the Glasgow outfit with hope over their case for ending the Scottish Premiership season early. While some figures of their Old Firm rivals would like to see their club be named champions should the campaign end early, Gers legend Ally McCoist has voiced his disapproval over such an outcome.
Supporters loved the report about the National League as they took to Twitter to react. Here are some tweets:
Agreed. Cancel league titles & relegation. Sporting integrity must be upheld at all costs 🙂

Whilst multiple outcomes are still possible the only sensible outcome for the SPFL is to null and void all leagues.

Every league should follow suit

The only sensible and logical decision at a time like this sadly.
