Rangers fans were lashing out at George Edmundson after the central defender conceded a penalty in the defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.
In the first half against Leverkusen, Charles Aranguiz attempted to cross the ball into the penalty area, however, the Englishman blocked the ball with his arm. After taking a look at the incident, referee Szymon Marciniak pointed to spot with Kai Havertz comfortably dispatching the spot-kick (via BBC).
One fan called the moment ‘blatant’.
Fairly blatant pen, Edmundson has cost us there.

It was a bitter blow as the Glasgow outfit were undone by some clinical finishing from the Bundesliga outfit, who ran out 3-1 winners on the night. Following Havertz’s penalty, Aranguiz hit a spectacular shot after the ball was cleared by James Tavenier before Leon Bailey’s stunning finish past Allan McGregor. Supporters were left lambasting the defender after his mistake during the encounter as they took to Twitter to react. Here are some of the reactions:
He’s a liability he got away with it last week poor player .

The love in fans have with Edmundson is another bemusement. Guy is very very poor. Unfortunately our best centre half is injured. #Helander
