Rangers won 3-0 against East Fife on Sunday, putting them into the last eight of the Scottish League Cup, with goals from Jermain Defoe, Filip Helander and Joe Aribo, although Helander’s strike could questionably have gone down as an own goal.

The big Swedish defender was signed from Bologna over the summer for a fee of £3.5m, BBC, and it seems that the defender is already proving why it was a good investment, as the 26-year-old assisted Jermain Defoe before seemingly scoring himself to make it 2-0.
However, there seems to be some debate over whether or not the 26-year-old should be credited with the goal, as after Jordan Jones headed the ball back into the box from a free-kick, Helander tussled with East Fife’s Ross Dunlop before the ball went in, although Sky Sports have credited Helander with the goal.

The Bluenoses, quite clearly, believe the goal should be Helander’s and it’s up to the player to ensure he gets at least one more before the end of the season.
