Young Alfredo Morelos is showing this season just what he’s capable of. The Colombian striker netted 18 times in all competitions last season under both Pedro Caixinha and Graeme Murty, however, with Steven Gerrard in charge he’s already bagged 14 this season and the fans are loving him.

The 22-year-old scored The Gers only goal in the week when they drew 1-1 away at Kilmarnock and then again today he found the net, ensuring the three points would be heading back to Ibrox despite a spirited performance from struggling St Mirren. For a time it looked like the Scottish Premier League’s 11th placed side would be getting a point, however, Daniel Candeias and Morelos were quickly on hand to prove otherwise.
Morelos is like a new man this season. His finishing and timely goals have been instrumental to his side’s form this season and with Stevie G relying on him for goals time and time again, it looks like he could be celebrating a 30+ goal season at this rate. His form has also been recognised internationally as he made his first appearance for the Colombian national team back in September, as the striker continues to enjoy the best season of his career.

The Gers can’t get enough of Morelos at the moment and will be hoping he can net away at Spartak Moscow in the week.
