While it could be better, things aren’t going too badly at Rangers right now. Indeed, with Steven Gerrard at the helm, the Gers are back in the Europa League group stages and, generally, look a more cohesive unit under his watch.
Still, the Light Blues have a long way to go under the Kop idol to restore former glories, that much is clear. With the club’s 55th league title proving elusive as bitter rivals Celtic dominate proceedings atop the Scottish Premiership, Gers fans will have to think back to years gone by to see trophies at Ibrox.
So, a tweet from the Scottish Premiership’s official account had Rangers fans taking a trip down memory road. Taking to Twitter, they threw it back to the 2002/03 campaign, when Mikel Arteta’s penalty against Dunfermline wrapped up a stunning 6-1 win to seal the club’s title win.

On that day, then-Celtic striker and current Scottish football pundit Chris Sutton accused The Pars of ‘laying down’ as Rangers won the title, so the memory certainly had Gers fans online joking about the matter.
