Rangers: Fans questioned the decision to rest Steven Davis

Rangers returned to Scottish Premiership action on Sunday with a relatively uneventful 2-0 win over Livingston at the Toni Macaroni Arena.

Joe Aribo and Alfredo Morelos were the goal scorers as Steven Gerrard made two changes to the side that were outstanding in midweek in the 2-0 Europa League win over Porto.

Aribo came in for Steven Davis who is likely to play two games for Northern Ireland over the break and Scott Arfield replaced Brandon Barker in support of Ryan Kent and Morelos.

The absence of Davis caused the most concern for the Ibrox faithful as the experienced midfielder, in his manager’s words, has been exceptional this season, controlling the tempo and pace of play.

Rangers fans took to Twitter to question leaving Davis out the starting XI in what was a key game before the international break, the Gers were looking to maintain the pressure on Celtic and keep in touch at the top of the league.
