Rangers: Fans react as Andy Halliday apologises on behalf of Gers squad

The dust has settled on Wednesday’s defeat to Hamilton, but Rangers fans are still furious at some of the supposed leaders in the squad, slamming the decision to send fringe player Andy Halliday out to apologise for the performance.

If there were doubts creeping in about Rangers’ ability to win the matches they are expected to win before Wednesday night, those doubts have blown the doors off Ibrox after the 1-0 defeat to Hamilton. David Moyo’s second half strike after a calamitous moment from Connor Goldson was enough on the night, as the Gers registered a ridiculous 31 shots without finding the net (BBC).

And with serious questions now being raised over the mentality of the squad, the Ibrox faithful can’t believe who came out to answer those questions, as the decision was made to send Halliday out to speak to the press.

“All we can do is offer our complete and sincere apologies. The performances from the winter break have been miles off it,” he said.

Fans are furious that a man with just six Premiership showings this campaign was the one to come out and apologise, with a mixture of praise for the 28 year-old and criticism for certain other figures in the Twitter reactions down below, with one supporter labelling it as ‘absolutely scandalous’…
