Rangers: Fans sarcastically laud Matt Polster’s brief appearance against Motherwell

Rangers fans were praising a surprise man after their victory over Motherwell which saw Steven Gerrard’s side momentarily top the Scottish Premiership standings.

Goals from Nikola Katic and Alfredo Morelos saw the Gers bounce back from their last couple of domestic fixtures, though it was substitute Matt Polster that was the toast of a section of supporters despite only being limited to a six-minute cameo at Fir Park.

Supporters were clearly in a jovial mood having seen their side comfortably dispatch of their opponents after going a man down midway through the second half, with calls for Polster to be named as Man of the Match among the replies as the American made a brief showing towards the end of the game.

Some supporters were simply happy to see Polster getting a chance after just 26 minutes of league action prior to Sunday afternoon, while others were seemingly delighted with the midfielder’s performance – albeit somewhat sarcastically:
