Rangers: James Tavernier’s return to training sparks gleeful reaction among these fans

Plenty of Rangers fans have reacted with jubilation to seeing captain James Tavernier back in training, as per a tweet shared by @RangersFC.

The 28-year-old right-back has recently been sidelined after undergoing a small procedure on a problem with his appendix (as per The Scottish Sun) but is now back on the training pitch and, in another update shared by @RangersFC on Twitter, assistant manager Gary McAllister has said that he could return to first team action within two weeks.

Tavernier had been ever-present in the Premiership for the ‘Gers this season before the procedure on his appendix forced him to miss the team’s last three matches in all competitions, including Sunday’s defeat at Hearts. During his spell on the sidelines, teenager Nathan Patterson was given his debut in the Scottish Cup win over Stranraer while Jon Flanagan filled in at right-back for the last two league games. However, the ex-Liverpool man came under fire from some Rangers fans over his displays against St Mirren and Hearts.
