Rangers have announced Dubai as the destination for their warm-weather training camp in January on their official website.
The club announced the trip was in partnership with Emirates Airlines and will be hoping for a longer relationship than the one with Thomas Cook for this season’s travel club after many fans lost out on away trips in the Europa League because of the company’s recent demise.
Steven Gerrard’s side will play a friendly fixture during the camp at the Nad al Sheba Sports Complex with further details to be announced at a later date. Indeed, the team will be staying there between the 6th and 12th of January 2020, before returning to Scotland for league fixtures against St Mirren and Hearts that month.
The likes of AC Milan, Manchester United and Juventus are previously noted to have stayed at the centre.
As you can imagine, Gers fans responded to the tweet in their numbers with no small amount of sarcasm given the club’s financial history.
At least the squad will have some sun to cheer them up when we go into administration.
