Rangers suffered a blow to their title challenge by losing 2-1 to Hearts on Sunday and considering the winning goal came with less than 10 minutes to play, it’ll frustrate fans even more. They only managed to have two shots on target all game, and fans agreed with Steven Gerrard’s assessment in his interview after the match.
He said he thought his side were “out-battled” and “didn’t deserve anything from the game”, calling it the first time in his 100 games as manager that he didn’t recognise his team on and off the ball. It was an honest interview, and it was easy to tell how annoyed he was with his players for not carrying out his plan to win the game.
The club posted the interview on their official Twitter account on Sunday evening and many fans agreed with what Gerrard, opting not to blame him for the result. Many replied to show how much they can relate to how Gerrard feels and also how much they respect him for being honest.
