Alfredo Morelos scored his 19th and 20th goals of the season and also chipped in with an assist as Rangers swept aside Hearts 3-0 in the Betfred League Cup semi-final on Sunday.
Steven Gerrard’s men were out to end their Hampden hoodoo with their last five visits not even producing a goal, a record that went back to 2016 when Andy Halliday scored against Hibernian in the 3-2 defeat.

Morelos lead the line impeccably; he was a constant threat to the Hearts backline and could easily have had another couple of goals to add to his impressive tally for the season. His assist for Filip Helander’s opener and knock down for Ryan Kent to get behind the defence for Morelos’ first and Rangers second were typical of his performance.
Gerrard had to field questions about Morelos moving in the January transfer window given the ever-increasing interest from down south, but he’s “100% sure” he won’t be going anywhere, as reported in The Express.
Fans of the Ibrox club took to twitter to bask in Morelos’ performance as he led the club to their first major final since 2016.
