Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are going to be in for a big 2019/20 season if the Liverpool legend can get things right in the transfer market, which is exactly why getting Joe Aribo signed has to be a priority, especially after his latest comments via London News Online.
According to the London outlet, Lee Bowyer had a conversation with the midfielder about a new contract after signing one of his own, and whilst the first thing Aribo did was congratulate his current boss on his extension at The Valley, the same outlet have reported a deal to take him to Glasgow has been agreed.
It would make sense for Aribo to move on to Rangers, too. Gerrard is assembling a side that can challenge Celtic domestically, and given that he’s already brought in Glen Kamara (23) and could now be set to add Jake Hastie (20) and Joe Aribo (22), it looks the Ibrox club are building the right way.
Aribo, should he be brought in this summer at Ibrox, would join the likes of Kamara, Ryan Jack, Steven Davis and Scott Arfield in contention for a spot in the middle of the park, and he certainly has the talent to nail down a spot under Gerrard and improve the current squad in the blue half of Glasgow.
All you have to look at to believe that is Aribo’s stats from last season. The impressive midfield maestro was crucial to Charlton’s League One promotion campaign as he provided 15 combined goals and assists in his 39 games, via Transfermarkt, in the league and play-offs combined, numbers that Gerrard would love to see him contribute in Scotland in the 2019/20 season.
Rangers fans, do you want to sign Joe Aribo this summer? Let us know!
