Real Madrid: Fans react as Gareth Bale is called up to Wales squad

Controversy surrounding Gareth Bale is never too far away.

The 30-year-old is constantly in the headlines at the minute due to his uncertain future with Real Madrid, with it looking possible that he could finally leave the club next year for a fresh venture elsewhere – potentially in the Chinese Super League.

Bale’s consistent issues with injury have placed great strain on his relationship with Real Madrid, and despite winning plenty of trophies with Los Blancos since arriving at the club from Tottenham in 2013, it is becoming more and more apparent that the strain is perhaps becoming too much for all to handle.

The Welshman has missed Real’s previous four matches in all competitions with a calf injury, but has been called up for Wales’ upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Hungary next weekend. If he plays for his country later this month, it could risk creating a further rift between the player and his club – perhaps understandably so considering his recent absence in Spain.

These fans certainly agree, and want Bale out:

Nothing but respect for Bale for what he has done, but I’d love to see him gone in January.

He makes it so hard for us to root for him 😒

Classic Bale always put Wales before Real Madrid

And there will still be people defending him and thinking he’s the victim 😂

He pocketed almost 2 million euros in salary since his last Real Madrid match. He’s literally stealing for a living.

400k weekly salary for someone who misses most of the important games, then spend some more time playing golf while injured. He has played only 56% of games since he joined RM but somehow it’s still realmadrid’s fault.

Real Madrid should let him go and move on.
