Marco Asensio has stepped up his recovery from injury, taking to the swimming pool to help strengthen his injured knee, as reported by MARCA.
The Spanish midfielder ruptured his ACL against Arsenal during Los Blancos’ pre-season tour of America, and is expected to miss the majority of this season.
Asensio will be working closely with club physios at Madrid to ensure his return to action is as soon as possible, and with the injury crisis at the Bernabeu not looking pretty, many fans would surely be delighted to have the 23-year-old back in action sooner rather than later. However, a return is still a substantial way off yet, with MARCA suggesting that he is now likely to miss the European Championship next year.
Real Madrid’s official Twitter page posted a video of Asensio slowly walking around one of their training ground swimming pools as part of his rehab on Tuesday, and it was clearly a welcome sight for these Los Blancos supporters, nonetheless…
