Real Madrid’s search for a second La Liga win goes on another week, as Los Blancos recorded a second consecutive draw against Villarreal on Sunday evening.
Madrid have now dropped to fifth in La Liga, four points behind current leaders and fierce rivals Atletico Madrid. They’ll be hoping to return to winning ways after the international break with a win over Levante, where it’s likely summer signing Eden Hazard will finally make his anticipated league debut for the club having missed the campaign so far with a thigh injury.
After twice coming from behind, Zinedine Zidane’s men drew 2-2 with the Yellow Submarine last night, courtesy of a brace from Gareth Bale.
The Welshman opened his account for the season with a tap-in on the stroke of half-time, before doubling his tally on the 86th minute with a strike which evaded goalkeeper Andrés Fernández at the front post.
However, Bale’s performance was blighted after he saw red for a second bookable offence in the dying stages, though after watching the replay it did seem to be an extremely harsh decision taken by the referee.
Here’s what some fans had to say about it on Twitter..
disgraceful refereeing.
