As reported here on the Transfer Tavern only 7 days ago, Lassana Diarra may move to Manchester United. The previous story https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/2010/12/premiership/united-to-steal-real-star-for-12m, showed ‘Lass’ to be keen on a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu. And now today, reports emerging from Spain show that the Frenchman has pleaded with Real to release him from his contract with immediate effect.
The only stumbling block (and admittedly it’s a fair sized one) is the admittance last week from Fergie that he won’t sign anyone this January. But surely if a player of Diarra’s calibre wants to join your club and your club are favourites by a mile to win the league this season, then does it make sense to move now and improve the squad from a position of strength?
It would be the final nail in the coffin for all his rivals, so come on Fergie, sign him up!

because Uniteds midfield isnt as good as arsenal and chelsea’s diarra would walk into the midfield and would be 1st name on the team sheet
Nitram that was years ago,he would walk into Arsenal team now, he would be one of the first choice midfielders, Diarra or Song, theres no contest. And on Real, obviously Mourinho isnt mad on him as he has let him go before and imo he is better than Khedira. Would be a very good signing
Simon, united have already got enough players to slot in infront of the defence, and to break up play, so why get another one? Waste of money.

Diarra is a talent, but Mourinho likes his CDM t be big and strong; Khedira, Mikel, Essien. Diarra is smaller, but a great player. Diarra and Anderson in the middle of the pitch would be sensational. If it\’s 3 inthe middle a Fletcher or Gibson would make them a scary central midfield to take on
Any midfield with Gibson in it would be as scary as a sack of potatoes, but Diarra is a great player indeed
