Realistically, these 2 Celtic players are likely to be axed this summer

It has been a fantastic season for Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern.

The Bhoys wrapped up the season many weeks ago and have been letting our landlord and everyone else in the Tavern know about their great achievements this season, something that is really grinding the gears of our resident Rangers fans.

Although the Celtic fans have been getting on our landlord’s nerves, he can’t deny that Brendan Rodgers has done a brilliant job with his side this season and with the club seemingly ever improving under his tutorship, the Hoops in the Tavern are excited to see how their side go in Europe next season.

Furthermore to an exciting Europe expedition, our landlord has noted that the Summer transfer window will be vital to see how Rodgers improves his side and although there will surely be some new faces, there is also some deadwood that needs to leave Parkhead to make way for new signings.

The resident Bhoys in the Tavern definitely agree with this notion from our landlord, and they have been busy discussing which players will be axed by Rodgers when Summer comes around.

It has been a thrilling discussion and outlined here are the TWO most realistic players to be axed from Celtic’s squad this summer…

Dorus de Vries

With Craig Gordon doing such a fantastic job in the Hoops’ goal this season, will the 36-year-old keeper look to leave Celtic park in the pursuit of first team football?

Our landlord certainly believes so especially with the Dutchman not really getting any younger, a club offering him first team football will be very hard to turn down.

Our resident Celtic fans agree with our landlord and also point towards Logan Baily as their second choice keeper especially with the Belgium in his early thirties, which is usually considered the peak of a keeper’s career.

Gary Mackay-Steven

The Scotsman really hasn’t established himself under Brendan Rodgers, and our landlord believes it is time for him to leave Celtic Park.

Mackay-Steven hasn’t really featured for the Hoops since his injury at the start of this season and although he seems to have recovered fine from this setback, he has been unable to break himself into the team which may well result in him leaving the club.
