N’Golo Kante has established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe so for the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern, news of an injury he sustained in France’s 1-0 win over Bulgaria will be deeply concerning.
The Evening Standard reported that the Ballon d’Or nominee came off with a thigh injury and will miss Les Blues’ final World Cup Qualifier against Belarus on Tuesday. He is also likely to be absent when Antonio Conte takes the Premier League champions to a beleaguered Crystal Palace side this weekend, looking to recover from their 1-0 defeat at home to Manchester City last time out. And without a fit Kante, it is expected his former Leicester City teammate- they now share a dressing room at Stamford Bridge- Danny Drinkwater will slot in.
Kante will undoubtedly be a huge miss, as he’s proved a constant presence in Chelsea’s midfield since his arrival from Leicester City in 2016, so the Blues in our bar are absolutely gutted.
With that in mind, here’s how some of the Chelsea fans in our bar reacted online.
Kanté muscle injury. Never thought I'd see the day…

N’Golo Kante had to come off for France after 33 minutes with what looked like a hamstring injury. International football’s great, isn’t it?
