Liverpool: Fans hammer Troy Deeney’s comments on Premier League season

Liverpool are within touching distance of being crowned Premier League champions.

The Reds currently lead the table by a huge 25 points and, had it not been for the coronavirus pandemic that has wreaked havoc across the planet, they would have likely been crowned champions a long time ago. They are just two wins away from their first league title in 30 years and have lost just one game in the top flight this term – they fully deserve to lift the trophy.

The club’s supporters have been waiting a long time for this title but Watford striker Troy Deeney certainly believes that their march to Premier League glory will always be tainted in its memory. The 31-year-old said that, even if the campaign is completed with Liverpool as champions, this is the season that will forever be remembered as the campaign that was spoiled by the coronavirus pandemic.

This has not gone down too well at all with many Liverpool supporters – they will always remember it as the season that they won the league if they are crowned champions.
