Report: Celtic close on big deal after transfer talks with one of the world’s largest clubs

Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern will be delighted that their club is about to get their main transfer target this summer and will be hoping he can reproduce the form that attracted him to his name.

According to a report in The Daily Mail, the Scottish Champions are poised to complete a permanent deal for Odsonne Edouard from Paris Saint-Germain. The deal, which is thought to be worth around £9million, is expected to shatter their transfer record and will be paid in instalments.

It has been suggested that the Hoops will pay £6.5m to begin with, before having to shell out a further £2.2m if he were to achieve certain add-ons.

The 20-year-old made himself a fan favourite at Celtic Park during his temporary stay having made a huge impact against Old Firm rivals Rangers, something the residents in the bar will never forget. Edouard netted 11 times last season, including a double against the Light Blues.
