Arsenal have undergone something of a revolution this summer.
Finally without Frenchman Arsene Wenger at the helm, Gunners fans can look forward to something different ahead of the coming campaign. The Arsenal board have certainly backed new Spanish manager Unai Emery in the transfer market, as he has overseen a host of new arrivals to the North London club.
Emery has gone for experienced names such as Stephan Lichsteiner and Sokratis Papastathopoulos at the back, two vastly experienced defenders. It is understandable that Emery wants to tighten up a defence who looked a shambles at times under the tenure of Arsene Wenger.
Alongside his experienced signings at the back, he has brought in some exciting younger talent. For example, young attacking midfielder Lucas Torreira.
Unai Emery has a difficult task on his hands to get Arsenal back into a Champions League spot. The Emirates outfit have spent the last two seasons outside the Champions League spots, and with the clubs above them looking so strong, Emery will want the best possible talents at his disposal.
With that in mind, here are two players Emery must be fuming Arsenal haven’t signed…
Steven N’Zonzi would be a perfect player for Unai Emery.
The defensive midfielder would add some real ball-winning qualities and toughness to the Arsenal midfield. N’Zonzi has been a real force in a successful Sevilla side for many seasons.
He is rated as being worth £30m by Transfermarkt.
Alongside more creative talents like Torreira and Ramsey, N’Zonzi would free up these players to play their natural games.
Not a new arrival, but Emery must surely be fuming the club haven’t wrapped up a contract for the Welshman.
Ramsey has struggled with injuries, but is one of the best talents at Arsenal on his day. A genuine goal-scoring midfielder, with a great technique and passing range, Emery will be fuming the club have failed to sign him up on a long term contract. Ramsey is the kind of footballer Emery would love to work with.
If he has an injury-free season, he will be a key player for the Gunners.
Aaron Ramsey is rated by Transfermark at £45m.
The club risk losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season, a scary idea indeed after the Alexis Sanchez fiasco.
