Steven Gerrard arrives at Ibrox with a tough job on his hands, with Celtic looking impossible to topple as the Scottish champions.
Last season Rangers limped to a 3rd placed finish in the Scottish Premiership. With Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard now in charge, Gers fans will be hoping the club can get back on level terms with their cross-city rivals.
Gerrard has so far had a positive pre-season with Rangers, not conceding in any of their games so far.
There is undoubted talent in the Rangers squad, but there needs to be more quality throughout the team to help them compete. Steven Gerrard needs to instil a work ethic and belief back into his Rangers side, damaged from years of trailing behind Celtic. To catch up with Celtic he has to bring more players through the door at Ibrox, he has made smart additions so far, but not enough to challenge for a Scottish title.
Gerrard has stated he is in a rush to bring in new recruits before the season starts.

It has been confirmed by Rangers talks with the 21-year-old have ended.
The Manchester City centre-back, who spent last season on loan at Oldham Athletic, is a big player for the Gers to miss out on.
The 6ft 1 defender is a truly composed centre-back with plenty of aerial ability. His comfort on the ball, as you would expect from a product of the Manchester City academy, is top notch. If Gerrard wants to play a brand of football which encourages playing out from the back, Kean Bryan would have been high up on his priority list.
Steven Gerrard will be bitterly disappointed the club have missed out on Bryan.
This signing could have been a real signal of intent from Rangers.
The Scottish winger spent last season on loan with Championship play-off finalists Aston Villa from parent club West Ham United. Set-piece specialist Snodgrass could have been a driving force in the Rangers side, and propelled them to challenge Celtic.
Although he is 30-years-old, his game does not rely on pace. He has a pin-point delivery into the box and would contribute to goals with his excellent free-kicks.
Gerrard will be perplexed that Rangers have not moved to sign the player.
