The Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to a story in The Sun that claims Atletico Madrid have entered the race for Kieran Tierney, with Diego Simeone sending a scout to watch the young Scot on Sunday as he faces Motherwell in the Scottish Cup final. Brendan Rodgers faces a battle to keep the youngster this summer, with Tottenham, Manchester United and now Atletico all interested in the player.
Celtic have relied very heavily on the young left-back over the last couple of seasons and now they will be hoping the faith they’ve put in him can be repaid this summer as they look to keep the player. Tierney has put himself onto the radars of a number of big clubs and if he is to up stakes and leave Parkhead, it will take a big deal to prise him from the Hoops, with the fans refusing to believe he will leave Glasgow this summer.
Tierney could become a back-to-back treble winner under Brendan Rodgers if he helps his side to victory in Sunday’s Scottish Cup final against Motherwell. Celtic will travel to Hampden Park again for the first time since they annihilated Rangers 4-0 last month in the semi-final of the competition. Tierney’s brilliance has been well documented and despite Celtic’s poor Champions League campaign this season, the 20-year-old was a shining light for the Bhoys.
