Alfredo Morelos continues to dazzle Rangers fans in 5-1 St Johnstone rout

Yesterday saw Rangers host St Johnstone in the Scottish Premier League and after The Gers’s Glasgow rivals Celtic had dropped point away at Kilmarnock earlier that day it gave the Bluenoses a chance to climb above The Hoops and into second with a win. They did it spectacularly, smashing a sorry St Johnstone 5-1 and the fans were singing Alfredo Morelos name after the final whistle.

Morelos scored yet another goal to take his tally up to seven for the season. Alongside his four assists that make it 11 goals that the little Colombian has made for his side in just 15 games. The fans were all sceptical of the striker last season but it looks like whatever Steven Gerrard has been doing to the 22-year-old in training is working and he’s in amazing form and the next game against Livingston next Sunday can’t come quickly enough.

Having options up front is always going to help and for Morelos, the arrival of Kyle Lafferty will have been a huge coup. The pair works together as a ‘big man little man’ strike partnership and they both found the net yesterday in the 5-1 win after Lafferty came off the bench. Gerrard seems to have got his side playing just the way he wants and that’s highly impressive considering how long he’s been in the job and his lack of experience. As far as the Gers are concerned, long may it, and Morelos good form, continue.

The Rangers fans are loving Morelos superb form and will be keen for it to continue as he looks to better the 18 goals he bagged last season.
