Celtic would have had their sights set on improving in the Champions League and challenging for another treble in the current campaign, but things just haven’t gone to plan.
The Hoops got have been a mixed bag so far this season, with consistency being hard to come by in Europe and the Scottish Premiership. Indeed, the Glasgow side don’t look anywhere near as strong as they have been in seasons gone by, with many supporters already starting to write their team off.
Worryingly, Brendan Rodgers has struggled for answers at times and has made a number of debatable managerial decisions this season, which has cost them dearly.
With that being said, here’s a look at TWO of Rodgers’ biggest blunders…
Brendan Rodgers has looked to chop and change his team around on way too many occasions, which has had a negative effect on their performances on the field.
Tom Rogic has been one of the standout performers in seasons gone by and played a huge part in their treble-winning campaign last time out, but he hasn’t been able to get a look-in so far this season.
The Hoops have lacked a cutting edge in the final third at times, and the Australian is the perfect man to provide that, but he has been completely overlooked by Rodgers.
Celtic would have been hoping to seek improvements in the Champions League this season after a woeful few years in the competition, but they couldn’t find a way to secure a place in the group stages and have looked unconvincing in the Europa League since taking the step down.
Indeed, the Hoops’ disappointing European form appears to be having a negative effect on their Scottish Premiership campaign as some of the players have looked dejected and unmotivated at times.
So, Rodgers’ inability to rally his troops at times has certainly caused problems this season.
