Celtic have already added two wingers to their ranks this January, however, another could soon arrive at Celtic Park.
Brendan Rodgers has added both Oliver Burke and Timothy Weah to his squad on temporary deals until the end of the season.
Maryan Shved has been linked with a move to Parkhead and the manager does not appear to have denied a switch could happen, although it does not look as though he would play an immediate role.
“We’ve got about a million wingers and don’t need another one but he’s a talent and in the summer we’ll probably lose wingers and he’ll look to come in,” Rodgers is quoted as saying by The Daily Record on their Transfer Blog (24 January 2019, 10:41 am).
“They’ll look to get the deal done and he’ll probably be out on loan and in during the summer. I haven’t seen a great deal of him.”
Shved, who currently plays for Karpaty Lviv, is a Ukraine international and is thought to have a bright future ahead of him.
With the likes of Burke and Weah arriving this January, whilst James Forrest is already in the squad, it would be difficult to see the 21-year-old getting a chance with the first-team.
However, bringing him in now could be a great piece of business by Celtic as he has the potential to turn into an exciting player in the near future.
