Celtic managed to secure all three points against Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership earlier on today, but things aren’t all positive for the defending champions.
The Hoops face an anxious wait on the injury front, as according to the BBC Sportsound (via Daily Record), Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Callum McGregor is set for an X-ray on an injury picked up against Valencia.
Indeed, the Scotland international star was left out of Celtic’s squad for today’s game against Motherwell at Parkhead.
“He’s picked up an injury from the midweek,”
“We would’ve taken him off (during Valencia game) but we were down to 10 men and he didn’t feel it too bad.
“But then the last few days its stiffened up so we’ll see what the result of the X-ray is on that.”
Callum McGregor has always been one of Celtic’s most reliable performers in years gone by but he just wasn’t able to ensure consistency last time out against Valencia, which could be down to him suffering from his injury.
Nevertheless, the Hoops will be praying that the X-ray reveals nothing serious as losing him for a long period of time could prove costly, as he’s been influential for large parts.
