Last night saw a whole host of Champions League action. One of the most intriguing games of the night saw Manchester City host Lyon at The Etihad and plenty of Celtic fans tuned in to see whether or not their ex-striker, Moussa Dembele would feature. The striker made the bench in his side’s 2-1 win but failed to come on as a sub and plenty of Celtic fans enjoyed it.
Dembele will have been happy to see his side register their first win of the campaign but its one that he would love to have featured in. Goals from Maxwel Cornet and Nabil Fekir gave the French side a 2-0 half-time lead before Bernardo Silva halved the deficit in the second half. The game finished 2-1 and plenty of Celtic fans were having their say on their former man, with a lot of responses edging on being very bitter.
The Frenchman was class in the Scottish Premier League and contributed towards the Hoops’ double-treble. There’s no doubt he will go down in history at Celtic but considering he could have stuck around and gained Henrik Larsson-type levels of affection, the fans were all really disappointed when he opted to swap Parkhead for The Groupama Stadium over the summer.
You can read The Bhoys’ verdict on Dembele here:
