Celtic fans on Twitter were livid as Edouard suffered injury setback

Considering the lack of forward options available to Brendan Rodgers, the last thing they needed last night was an injury to Odsonne Edouard. However, that’s exactly what they got as the Frenchman suffered a first-half setback and needed to be replaced by 19-year-old Mikey Johnston, who went on to score his first senior goal for the club.

Speedy recovery, Odsonne

Whilst the extent of Edouard’s injury is still unknown, it will be a good opportunity for Rodgers to experiment with some other options. However the Frenchman’s layoff has hardly come at a good time, with a tough domestic run of fixtures over Christmas seeing them face Dundee, Aberdeen and Rangers all in the space of just seven days, and the prospect of going to Ibrox with no recognised striker is a bad one.
Either way, the Bhoys will be confident of grabbing the wins that they need to extend their stay at the top of the Scottish Premier League, even if they have to do so without a #9. In recent weeks, Edouard has failed to hit top form and the fans would have been close to calling for him to miss out on a game here or there, but they certainly didn’t have this in mind for the electric ex-PSG man.

Is there no an emergency loan thing we can use for a striker if there’s no first team strikers available?

This isn’t good at all with the upcoming fixtures and that fact we are thin with proven goal scorers upfront

The Hoops are gutted to have lost Edouard and will just hope that the Frenchman can have a speedy recovery.
