Celtic has announced that Callum McGregor has signed a new long-term contract which ties him to the Parkhead club until 2024.
He has been a virtual ever-present for the Hoops this season and including international appearances has played 28 games in total. Indeed, he’s made a decent start if he plans to break his 69 game record from last season!
McGregor signed a new deal as recently as last December but such is his importance to the club that they have taken steps to recognise his worth. Furthermore, it will also help to bump up his price tag should Premier League teams come calling, if the speculation is in fact true.
According to the Daily Express earlier this year, former manager Brendan Rodgers was keen to bring him down to Leicester City with him.
As a result, Celtic fans took to Twitter to congratulate the Scotland international on the new deal and to celebrate sorting out the future of a key player.
